Community Involvement

Russell Reid is proud to support The Wellness Community, an organization that strives to bring cancer support, education and hope to those directly or indirectly affected by the illness.

The Wellness Community - The Diney Goldsmith Center opened its doors in May of 2007 to the 1.2 million residents of Monmouth and Ocean counties to offer support, education and hope to people affected by cancer.  All programs are offered free of charge and include support groups, educational workshops, mind/body classes and social events.  The goal is to help combat the isolation felt by people with cancer by inviting them to join a community of others affected by the disease.  Programs are available to people with cancer, their family members, caregivers, and friends. 

Russell Reid President Gary Weiner currently serves as Board Chair of the Wellness Community.  His father and founder of Russell Reid / Mr. John, Morton Weiner,  died of cancer in 1989. After his death, Morton's sons continued his legacy by taking over the company and continuing the work that their father started. Having experienced the loss of a loved one to this illness firsthand, Gary Weiner welcomed the opportunity to help others affected by the illness.
